Mystery garden plant

Thursday 5 June 2008

Yes, i do know it's weedy round there.

For years i’ve been told this was a lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis) but i now find it’s far too big. This stands a couple of feet high. (And yes, it’s weedy around there.) Yesterday i thought i’d identified it as Dicentra – and if it is, i have no idea which one it would be. But Dicentra likes shade, and this grows (with no help from me) in open sun where it hardly gets shade at any time of day.

A closer look:closer look

Anyone who can be sure, do get in touch. In the garden i need all the expertise i can borrow or steal.
